This painting represents the wonder and magic of nature, and love from the spiritual realm. First painted circa 1971 using a view finder (little lit box with image projected). Renaissance painters used a similar device (camera obscura) for perspective and composition. I added the cardinals in 2024 as a tribute to my mother who loved cardinals. Fifty-three years to complete! Old and new combined for a clearer picture.
It is believed that God sends a cardinal to communicate: hope during turmoil; and as a reminder of self-worth, faith, spiritual practice, and to stay peaceful. And it may also convey a message from a loved one who has passed, as when a cardinal taped on my window in a time of need.
