Description

Created 2015

Painted from a Lake with an elevation of 8,000 feet near the San Juan National Forest and west of Durango Colorado.

This landscape is a continuation on my theme of reflections. It represents my awe of the magnificence of nature. The detailed painting technique I use takes a good deal of time to include the backward image of each feature from both the land and the sky in the water. It took 3 months to paint this one. Each tree may seem to be marching in line representing the unified awareness, flow, and intent of nature.

Each feature above is reflected below. This is how the universe works. Biblical passages indicate this: “Created in God’s image”, and “…on earth as it is in Heaven.” This suggests humans have a noble purpose and all things are sacred. And importantly, that there is a purposeful sacred consistency in the make up all of creation.

What you see is who you are. Perhaps your mind is concocting much of what you think is there. Make your mind beautiful and what you see will be beautiful.
