Description

CREATED 1972

I did this painting at night in acrylic with a pallet knife. Painted from an apartment window in Ithaca, NY after returning from art school in San Miguel, Mexico. The ephemeral nature of things emerges in the night landscape. It reminds us that what we see is relative to the light within and without. Our minds see what is programed and also what we want to see.

Seeing is also relative to our level of awareness. Life difficulties over time narrow our awareness. We see less and less of the beauty around us.

Our energy and emotional body are real. It is just not seen by the ordinary eye, as God is not. God remains visually hidden in all things. We must look deeply with our hearts.

When we turn from love, the light diminishes. In darkness the imagination may create fear from the unknown and the unconscious. Through faith fear turns to love. The light is aways there for us. Ask and you shall receive.
