Description

CREATED 1978

Pastel used to depict the trees on a slope above the Helderburg Escarpment in Altamont, NY. Pastels can quickly capture the light.

While trees hold their ground, even the (center) oak will eventually fall and decay. And the new growth, such as (left) birch trees on the snow-lined ridge begin the process of new forest growth.

Tree roots are good examples of God’s unseen support and life-giving energy. The roots extend below both supporting the tree and nurturing it. Without the roots the tree cannot stand or draw life from the earth.
